What is a False Positive?

A false positive, also known as a "False Detection," is a legitimate file wrongly detected by antivirus as being infected. It occurs when a program performs an action that appears to be a virus-like activity to the antivirus program. We strive to reduce false-positive detection to as minimum as possible. However, we may occasionally mistakenly flag a legitimate suitable file as a false positive threat.

Sometimes, we can fail to detect an infection. It is possible, although very unlikely that a threat will get past our filters. This happens mainly because new malware is released continuously, and there is a time gap between when a virus is created and when we add detection.
